Hi, I’m Megan — a small-town Iowa therapist and mom who understands how overwhelming it can feel to hold everything together. At MD Counseling, I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen, supported, and cared for. My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and centered on helping people slow down, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

I have been practicing as a therapist since 2023, with previous experience working as a school counselor with children and adolescents ages 11–17. Today, I work with individuals across the lifespan and from a variety of backgrounds. I enjoy working with women, especially moms, who feel overwhelmed, are navigating a season of change, or are trying to find their way back to themselves.

I commonly support clients navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, relationships, and emotional overwhelm. Whether you're adjusting to a new chapter, feeling pulled in too many directions, or simply know that something needs to change, therapy can be a space to slow down, gain perspective, and reconnect with what matters most.

Therapy with ME!

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and client-centered. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, supported, and genuinely understood. I strive to create a space where you can be honest about what you’re experiencing, explore your emotions and relationships, and better understand yourself without judgment.

I believe that what we experience today is often connected to the experiences, relationships, and beliefs we’ve developed throughout our lives. As a therapist, I enjoy helping clients slow down, look beneath the surface, and make sense of the patterns that may be affecting how they think, feel, and relate to others. I draw from Adlerian therapy, which emphasizes the importance of relationships, belonging, life experiences, and the beliefs we develop about ourselves and the world around us.

I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies and practical tools to help clients manage anxiety, stress, negative thought patterns, and everyday challenges. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating a life transition, struggling with your sense of self, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to understand what’s going on and identify meaningful steps forward.

Therapy is never one-size-fits-all. I tailor our work to your individual needs, goals, and pace, creating a space where you can feel supported while building greater clarity, confidence, and connection with yourself.
